Diffuser Size Guide

The right diffuser depends on the size of the space you want to scent. Measure the room or open area in square feet (length × width), then pick a diffuser whose coverage is at or above that number. Coverage figures assume a standard 8 ft ceiling, so choose one size up for high ceilings, open-plan areas or spaces with heavy air flow.

How to choose

  1. Measure the space. Multiply length by width. For connected rooms with open doorways, add them together.
  2. Check the ceiling. Our coverage numbers are based on an 8 ft ceiling. Above about 10 ft, or in spaces with strong air conditioning, size up.
  3. Decide how you will power it. The A603, C50 and Z1 run on a rechargeable battery or USB, so they suit cars and rooms without a nearby outlet. Larger units plug in for continuous use.
  4. Think about refills. Bigger bottles mean fewer refills: the commercial 3000S and 4000C hold 1,000 ml, while car units take 10 ml bottles.
  5. Pick your scent. Browse our diffuser oils by family: fresh, floral, fruity, woody, oriental or gourmand.

Frequently asked questions

Can one diffuser scent a whole house?

Only if the coverage matches the total open area. Closed rooms block air flow, so a multi-room home usually scents more evenly with one diffuser per main area, or with a home scenting plan.

What happens if I choose a diffuser that is too small?

The scent will be faint at the edges of the room and you may run the diffuser at maximum, which uses oil faster. Choosing the next size up lets you run it at a lower setting.

Do these diffusers use water or heat?

No. They are waterless cold-air diffusers. They turn fragrance oil into a fine, dry mist without heating or diluting it.
